Building the Foundations
In Nursery and Reception, children are immersed in the KCA values through play, relationships, routines, communication and exploration. The focus is on developing a secure, age-appropriate understanding of what each value looks and feels like in everyday life, creating the foundations for the observable behaviours that follow from Year 1 onwards.
Learning to listen, share, notice difference and understand that everyone belongs.
Learning to keep trying, manage feelings with support and grow in independence.
Helping, sharing, including others and showing care for people, animals and the environment.
Trying new things, joining in, sharing ideas and becoming increasingly confident.

What Courage feels like at KCA
At King's Cross Academy, courage is about having the confidence to be yourself, share your ideas and embrace challenge. Children are encouraged to take risks in their learning, perform in front of others and understand that mistakes are a natural part of becoming a successful learner.
